Together with the 9th Schweisstec international trade fair for joining technology, the 16th Blechexpo international trade fair for sheet metal processing will serve as a meeting place for global players in sheet metal processing from around the world from 7 to 10 November 2023. Nine halls at the Stuttgart Exhibition Centre are fully booked. The trade fair duo offers complete process sequences for modern, future-ready sheet metal processing and is therefore highly regarded among experts. An impressive additional programme, including the presentation of the 'Best of Award 2023', the 'Blechexpo Steel Convention 2023', the 'futureSteel' congress and the expert forum round off the trade fair's offerings.
Georg Knauer, project manager of the renowned trade fair duo, reports that the nine exhibition halls for Blechexpo/Schweisstec 2023 are fully booked. 'Tremendous interest in the fair, strong dynamics in the industry sector and important challenges for the future,' summarises Knauer. 'In general, it can be observed that process automation in the field of sheet metal processing is being pushed further and further forward,' explains the project manager. "Data-driven methods based on artificial intelligence algorithms and machine learning are being used more than ever in production operations to optimise processes and ultimately reduce lead times. Efficient sheet metal processing requires flexible machine tools, modern software and virtual simulation. These topics will be discussed intensively at the trade fair. The challenge is sustainability, and in sheet metal processing this means optimum workpiece utilisation and the prevention of material waste.
Efficient Production Processes, Efficient Trade Fair Visit
The range of topics covered by Blechexpo/Schweisstec includes efficient process technologies for modern laser technology, fully automated robotic sheet metal processing machines, precision tools and systems for punching, bending, braking and forming, as well as innovative micro waterjet cutting technologies. Above all, the current shortage of skilled production personnel, for example in material handling and machine operation, is fuelling further automation across the board. Thanks to the evolving integration of production data, the planning, implementation and analysis of production processes are becoming more efficient. 'Expert visitors at Blechexpo/Schweisstec experience the entire process chain for sheet metal processing,' emphasises Georg Knauer. 'Suppliers and investment decision-makers meet on an equal footing with direct practical relevance in a working environment. As the arrangement of the nine halls is structured differently, international specialist audiences can plan a problem-orientated trade fair visit: Sheet, tube and profile processing will take place in halls 1, 3, 5 and 9. Halls 4 and 6 are reserved for stamping technologies.
Hall 7 will introduce cutting, joining and joining technologies. Hall 8 will focus on pressing and forming technologies. Finally, steel and metal services and surface finishing technology will be discussed in Hall 10.
