Algeria becomes Europe's supplier of long product

Algeria, which had no sales to Europe until 2020, became one of the main sources of long product imports of Europe in 2022. Europe headed to new sources after the sanctions applied to Russia and Belarus. Acoording to the data, Algeria supplied 400,000 tonnes of long products to Europe in 2022. While main products supplied by Algeria are rebar and wire rod, it is known that main suppliers of long product are Tosyali Algeria and Algerian Qatari Steel. It is expected that Europe's commercial ties with Algeria, which imposes sanctions on imports from Belarus and Russia, will continue to strengthen this year.
