Speaking to SteelRadar, Mohammed Nabeel Khan, Marketing Manager at Al Jazeera Steel, said that demand for rebar in the region has been increasing rapidly, prompting the company to respond with a controlled and well planned production move.
Limited scale production step to meet demand
Khan noted that the Oman based facility has traditionally held a leading position in commercial bar production and explained that the company has initiated limited scale rebar manufacturing within its existing infrastructure. He emphasized that this move represents a strategic expansion aimed at gaining incremental market share without placing pressure on the company’s core commercial bar production capacity.
This controlled production is being carried out in small batches and does not require major capital expenditure, thanks to the company’s existing operational efficiencies and supply chain synergies.
Focus on the fast growing construction sector
Highlighting its focus on producing high quality, standards compliant rebar suitable for Oman’s rapidly developing construction projects, Khan said that construction activity across the region has gained strong momentum. He added that rising demand for durable and reliable building materials has led to increased demand for rebar, and that production is being planned to respond to market needs in a timely manner.
ECAS certification strengthens access to the UAE market
Khan also pointed out that the company’s recently obtained ECAS certification confirms that its products comply with the UAE’s strict regulatory standards in terms of durability, strength and traceability. According to Khan, this certification provides Al Jazeera Steel with a significant advantage by supporting Oman’s infrastructure goals while enabling seamless access to the UAE market. It also positions the company to help ease supply constraints across the wider Gulf region.
“We adjust production in line with demand trends”
Khan concluded by stating that production volumes are adjusted according to current demand trends and can be scaled up gradually when needed, adding:
“This carefully planned and low profile move allows us to support Oman’s large scale construction projects while smoothly expanding our market reach into the United Arab Emirates.”
