Acciaierie d'Italia is in talks with three companies for the future of the Taranto plant

Acciaierie d'Italia, one of Italy's leading steel producers, announced that under Extraordinary Administration, talks with Baku Steel Company, Jindal Steel International and Bedrock Industries Management Co Inc. to restructure and revitalize the company are continuing in a constructive environment. According to the company, all parties are united in the goal of developing sound, sustainable and long-term industrial solutions.

In this process, critical conditions remain critical for the future of the steel production center in Taranto. In particular, the decisions of the local authorities regarding the liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal project will be decisive. Company officials state that this terminal is a strategic infrastructure that will enable the realization of the direct reduced iron (DRI) plant and will make a tangible contribution to decarbonization targets in the sector.
