Rio Tinto, güneş enerjisi sistemlerine yatırım yapmayı planlıyor

Rio Tinto, karbon emisyonlarını azaltmak için Batı Avustralya'nın Pilbara bölgesinde iki yeni güneş enerjisi çiftliği ve pil enerjisi depolama sistemi inşa etmek için 402 milyon ABD Doları yatırım yapmayı planladığını duyurdu. İnşaat, yeni Gudai-Darri madeninin elektrik kullanımını tamamlayacak.

Proje, 225.000 güneş panelli 100 MW'lık bağımsız bir güneş enerjisi çiftliğidir ve 2025 yılına kadar faaliyete geçmesi beklenmektedir.
