Zaporizhstal started production of three new flat-rolled products in 2025

Operating within the Metinvest Group, Zaporizhstal expanded its product range and began producing three new flat-rolled products in 2025.

Zaporizhstal started production of three new flat-rolled products in 2025

Two of these products are in the hot-rolled segment and one is in the cold-rolled segment. The products have begun to be used as semi-finished materials in the construction and machinery manufacturing sectors, as well as in advanced-stage production of metal structures. Over the year, the company shipped approximately 58,000 tonnes of new products to customers.

Acting General Director of Zaporizhstal, Taras Shevchenko, stated that despite air raids, enemy attacks, logistics crises, and unstable energy supply conditions, the plant has continued its operations. He noted that during the full-scale invasion period, the plant has successfully mastered the production of 31 new product types. Shevchenko added that the company aims to further expand its product range with 11 additional new products in 2026, and that work in this direction has already begun.

In 2025, the company also completed production of plate and coil in the S235JRC steel grade in compliance with the European standard EN 10025-2. These products, which demonstrate high suitability for cold forming, are used in the manufacture of building metal structures, electric-welded pipes, and mechanical engineering products. A significant share of the output was supplied to the Polish and Slovak markets.

In the same year, Zaporizhstal also launched production of hot-rolled coil in a new standard size within the structural steel group, with a thickness of 1.8 mm and a width of 1,045 mm. This product is used in the manufacture of pipes, closed and bent profiles, welded load-bearing and decorative structures, as well as frames and machine parts, with Moldova being the main sales market.

In addition, in 2025 the plant began producing cold-rolled coil in the S280GD grade. After galvanizing and the application of protective coatings, this product is used in the manufacture of lightweight thin-walled steel structures, ranging from roofing systems to façade panels. S280GD cold-rolled coils were also supplied to manufacturers of retail equipment and shelving systems in the domestic Ukrainian market.
