Volvo is increasing its hybrid production capacity in the United States

Volvo Cars has announced that it will begin production of a new hybrid model at its Ridgeville, South Carolina manufacturing plant by 2030.

Volvo is increasing its hybrid production capacity in the United States

The facility currently produces the fully electric EX90 and Polestar 3 models and will also host the XC60 model in 2026. The new hybrid model is expected to be designed to meet the specific demands of the U.S. market. Volvo had previously announced its goal to transition to fully electric vehicle production by 2030; however, this new strategy indicates that hybrid models will also remain part of the company’s portfolio.

Volvo's move in the U.S. market not only aims to increase production capacity but also to meet American consumers’ growing interest in hybrid vehicles. Although details of the new hybrid model have not yet been revealed, this step appears likely to strengthen Volvo’s position in the U.S. market.
