The investigation, coded AD24 and launched by Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) on July 27, covers products classified under HS codes 7227.20.00, 7228.20.11, 7228.20.19 and 7229.20.00. The investigation was initiated following applications from Hoa Phat Pre-stressed Steel One Member Limited Liability Company and Viet Nhat Prestressed Steel Joint Stock Company.
The companies alleged that Chinese origin prestressed steel products are being sold in Vietnam at dumped prices, causing material injury to domestic producers. The deadline extension was granted to allow interested parties to complete their questionnaire responses and submit the information and data required for the investigation.
MOIT will continue to collect information from domestic producers, exporters, importers and other interested parties and verify the data submitted during the next stage of the investigation.
A public consultation is expected to be held before the final determination, after which a decision will be made on whether to impose antidumping measures.
