Uzbekistan offers Malaysia joint development of deposits

Uzbekistan is interested in engaging Malaysian company Fortress Minerals to develop deposits. At a meeting between the Uzbek ambassador and a company representative, prospects for cooperation in geological exploration and production were discussed.

This was discussed during a meeting between the Ambassador of the Republic, Karomiddin Gadoev, and the Deputy General Director of the Fortress Minerals company, Ng Mun Fay.
The company is engaged in the exploration, mining, production and sale of iron, copper, gold and nickel ore concentrates in the Malaysian states of Terengganu, Pahang and Sabah.
"The parties discussed the possibilities of cooperation in the development of promising deposits in Uzbekistan and the establishment of cooperation in the field of geological exploration. It was emphasized that Uzbekistan is one of the world's leading countries in terms of mineral reserves," the statement said.
The ambassador spoke about promising deposits of chromium, nickel, magnesium, cobalt, titanium and dolomite in the republic, and also proposed considering the possibility of implementing projects for their extraction.
In turn, the head of the Malaysian company expressed interest in the project proposals and readiness to visit Uzbekistan in the near future for a more detailed discussion.
