USA approves anti-dumping duties on 10 countries, including Türkiye

USA approves anti-dumping duties on 10 countries, including Türkiye

According to the Department, the countries affected are: Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the Netherlands, South Africa, Taiwan, Türkiye, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.

The Department’s investigations found that corrosion-resistant steel products imported from these countries into the US were being dumped and/or subsidized. These products are widely used in the automotive, household appliance, and construction industries.

Additional customs duties ranging from 6.48 percent to 13.47 percent will be applied to steel imports from Türkiye to the US.

US Deputy Secretary of Commerce William Kimmitt stated, "American steel companies and workers deserve to compete on a level playing field."

Following the decision, the US International Trade Commission (ITC) will conduct its own evaluation to determine whether these imports have caused injury to the domestic steel industry. The Department noted that if the ITC makes an affirmative injury determination, the anti-dumping and countervailing duty orders will be implemented.
