AISI reported that domestic crude steel production in the US was 1 million 614 thousand net tons for the week ending December the 24th, with a capacity utilization rate of 72.3%.
As of the same week of last year, the production was 1 million 768 thousand tons and the capacity utilization rate was 80.1%. Production in the last week shows a decrease of 8.7% compared to a year ago.
The production of the week ending on December the 24th decreased by 0.8% compared to the previous week when the capacity utilization rate was 72.9% and the production was 1 million 627 thousand tons.
As of the week ending on December the 24th, annual total production decreased by 5.6% compared to the same period of the previous year and became 87 million 605 thousand tons. Capacity utilization rate also decreased from 81.2% to 78.0%.
