US steel mill shipments rise in August

In August, US steel mills' shipments increased by 1.5% on a monthly basis to around 7.66 million net tons.

In the January-August period of this year, US steel mills' shipments totaled about 59.53 million net tons, down by 2.9% y-o-y. Compared with the January-August period of the previous year, shipments of HRC increased by 6%, while shipments of CRC and corrosion-resistant steel coil decreased by 1% and 1%, respectively.
