US slab imports increased in March

US slab imports up 48% m-o-m

In March 2023, US slab imports totaled about 423,000 tons, up 48% from February and 52% from March 2022.

Imports from Brazil ranked first

Imports from Brazil amounted to about 326,000 tons, from Mexico to about 53,100 tons and from Canada to about 33,100 tons.

Import value increased

In this period, import value increased by 52.8% mom and 41% yoy to approximately USD 259 million.
