U.S. launched five-year review on rebar imports from Türkiye and Mexico

The United States International Trade Commission (USITC) has officially announced the initiation of a five-year review on rebar imports from Türkiye and Mexico. According to today’s notice published in the Federal Register, the review will evaluate whether the existing antidumping and countervailing duty measures should continue.

Under U.S. trade law, such measures are subject to review every five years. The USITC stated that it will assess whether revoking these duties would likely lead to renewed harm to the U.S. steel industry.

Producers, exporters, and relevant stakeholders will be able to submit their views and data to the Commission as part of the process. The final decision will determine whether the current trade remedies remain in effect.

The United States has previously imposed antidumping duties on rebar imports from Türkiye and Mexico, citing concerns over unfair pricing and subsidies.
