Ukrainian Interpipe to invest USD 120 million in modernization

Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe announced plans to invest USD 120 million by 2032 for the modernization of its railway products manufacturing facilities.

Ukrainian Interpipe to invest USD 120 million in modernization

The company unveiled its investment program at the 2025 Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome. The program aims to build a new heat treatment line, increase rim and axle finishing capacities, and modernize the production workshop infrastructure.

Interpipe’s Product and Resources Director, Vitaliy Sueta, stated that the investment is intended to boost the company’s export potential and enhance its high-tech production capacity. “We hold a strong position in the freight transport segment. This program will also enable us to increase our share in the passenger transport segment,” Sueta noted.

He emphasized that each passenger train requires a unique wheel design, necessitating the development of separate production processes. Environmental sustainability is a key aspect of the investment plan, with every project aiming to reduce CO2 emissions and improve energy efficiency.

Interpipe has previously aimed to deepen cooperation with national railway operators such as Renfe from Spain, SNCF from France, and Trenitalia from Italy, while also planning to complete certification processes with leading manufacturers like Siemens, Alstom, and Stadler.
