Ukraine increased the export of scrap by 62.4%

According to the State Customs Service of the country, in January-November, Ukraine increased the export of ferrous scrap metal by 62.4% compared to the same period last year - up to 261.58 thousand tons.

In November, the export of raw materials abroad increased by 41% compared to the previous month and by 145.5% compared to November 2023, reaching 34.61 thousand tons. This is the highest figure in the last three years. The average monthly volume of scrap exports for 11 months amounted to 23.78 thousand tons, which significantly exceeds the level of 2023.

The bulk of raw materials for the period from January to November was sent to Poland - 223.48 thousand tons. Smaller volumes were exported to Greece (27.97 thousand tons) and Germany (6.32 thousand tons).

According to the results of 2023, the procurement of ferrous scrap metal in Ukraine increased by 28.1% compared to 2022, reaching 1.27 million tons. Scrap metal exports increased by 3.4 times compared to 2022 and amounted to 182.48 thousand tons.
