According to SteelRadar data, UK steel mesh prices, which started April with a decrease of EUR 4 and hovered at EUR 596, fell consecutively in the first week of April. Last traded at 580 EUR in the week of 2 April, steel mesh prices continued to decline in the week of 12 April and prices were observed at 578 EUR. In April, which was a month of fluctuations, it was noted that following the week of 15 April, when prices increased by EUR 5.5 to EUR 584, there were consecutive decreases on 16 and 17 April, and prices were traded at a stable EUR 578 on 18 April.
"The continuation of these downward factors has resulted in a major decline in the region's steel demand in 2023 to its lowest level since 2000 and significant downward revisions to forecasts for this year," market sources said.
According to SteelRadar data, prices were last seen trading at EUR 579 on 19 April. Developments such as the end of inflation are expected to support demand for steel, sources said.
