Türkiye's scrap imports decreased by 11.6% in May

According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's scrap imports in May increased by 11.6% compared to the same month of the previous year, decreasing from 1 million 796 thousand 632 tons to 1 million 587 thousand 822 tons. Compared to April, the previous month, it increased by 15.1%.

Total scrap imports in January-May period decreased by 5.4% from 8 million 603 thousand 985 tons to 8 million 135 thousand 159 tons.

Duing this period, the USA and the United Kingdom and the Netherlands ranked in the top 3 in Türkiye's scrap imports. Scrap imports from the USA amounted to 280,963 tons, followed by the United Kingdom with 214,952 tons, the Netherlands with 197,071 tons, Belgium with 121,923 tons and Lithuania with 103,541 tons.
