According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Türkiye's pig iron imports in June 2024 increased by 26% y/y, rising from 68,138 tons to 85,861 tons.
This figure, however, decreased by 31.3% compared to the previous month, May.
Total pig iron imports in the January-June period increased by 2.8% compared to the same period of the previous year, rising from 709,430 tons to 729,267 tons.
In terms of countries from which Türkiye imported pig iron in the month in question, Russia topped the list with 32,522.6 tons, followed by Ukraine with 20,771.7 tons and Indonesia with 19,472.1 tons.
