Türkiye's nuclear energy roadmap is being drawn in İstanbul

The Nuclear Power Plants Expo & Summit 2025 (NPPES) event will be held at İstanbul Hilton Bomonti on July 1-2, 2025 to support Türkiye's vision in the field of nuclear energy.

Türkiye, which has taken important steps in line with its energy security, carbon emission reduction and sustainable production targets, has taken its place among nuclear energy producer countries with the Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) project. Türkiye, which has determined a strong road map within the scope of Sinop and Thrace projects, Small Modular Reactor (SMR) investments and 2053 energy targets, continues its development in this field.

At NPPES 2025, where SteelRadar is a Silver Sponsor, critical issues such as the current status of Akkuyu NPP, 2035 and 2053 energy targets, domestic industry participation and employment opportunities, and international cooperation in SMR projects will be discussed.

With its modular structure, SMR technology, which can be manufactured in a factory and easily assembled on site, offers the advantages of shorter construction times and lower costs compared to conventional large nuclear power plants. This creates a significant demand potential, especially for the steel industry.

Targeting a wide range of professionals, including public institutions, global technology companies, engineering firms and local manufacturers, the event will offer opportunities for information sharing and cooperation in the nuclear energy ecosystem.
