Türkiye’s flat steel market carries upward momentum into September | September 3, 2026

Price increases that began in Türkiye’s flat steel market in the final days of August continued into the first days of September. Producers raised hot-rolled coil (HRC) prices by USD 5/tonne, while spot market prices for hot-rolled, cold-rolled and galvanized coils also increased, indicating that bullish expectations in the market are strengthening. Chinese-origin HRC offers also moved above the USD 550/tonne mark, pointing to higher import costs.
