Demand remains weak in the hot rolled coil markets. Expectations did not become clear in the first week of February. While Turkish hot rolled sheet producers are trying to increase their sales prices in the domestic market, citing limited production and high scrap costs, traders (spot market) seem determined not to accept the new list prices.
While local producers are trying to raise their labels higher, citing limited allocation and expensive scrap, customers are less willing to accept the new terms. Hot rolled sheet prices in the Turkish domestic market are at $720-725/ton EXW for March-April shipment. Although the new offers have reached $730 compared to the $700-720/ton EXW offers made in January, it seems possible to find a price with a 15% discount from the Aegean Region producer in the sales. While domestic market merchant figures vary by region, Türkiye's average price is between $725-740.
