Türkiye's scrap imports up 4% in January-August period

According to data compiled by SteelRadar from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Türkiye's scrap imports in August increased by 30.9% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching 1 million 966 thousand 317 tons from 1 million 502 thousand 538 tons. Compared to the previous month of July, it increased by 23.1%.

Total scrap imports in the January-August period increased by 4% from 13 million 166 tons to 13 million 517 thousand 558 tons.

Türkiye imported the most scrap from EU-27 in the said month. Scrap imports from the EU-27 amounted to 1,252,070 tons, followed by the US with 469,716 tons, the UK with 99,052 tons, Russia with 39,070 tons and Venezuela with 62,937 tons.
