According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat), Turkey's coke imports decreased by 2.2% in 2022 compared to the previous year and amounted to approximately 5.2 million tons. The annual import value increased by 105% to approximately USD 1.9 billion.
Australia, Turkey's three most important import sources, decreased by 23.3% y-o-y to about 2.51 million tons, the United States increased by 70.2% to about 1.53 million tons, and Canada imported about 533,500 tons of products, down 6%.
In December 2022, Turkey's coke imports increased by 39% m-o-m and decreased by 8.5% y-o-y. Total imports amounted to about 508,000 tons. Import value increased by 64% m-o-m and decreased by 20% y-o-y to approximately USD 151 million.
