According to some sources, the view of the steel plate industry in the US is still uncertain for 2023 due to three conflicting factors. These three factors are treated as more incoming supply, stronger demand expectations and the separation of the plate market from hot-rolled coil prices.
Local plate demand is expected to be much stronger in 2023. There is a fairly wide difference between the increased production capacity and the prices of sheet and hot rolled rolls. For this reason, there are thoughts that prices will be lower for 2023.
The cutting plate carbon grade is the lowest level for the sheet since it was rated at US$71 per cwt on 11th June, 2021.
