According to statistics from the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) in the week ending June 11 the production of the USA crude steel totaled 1.784 million short tons, slightly increasing by 0.2% from the same period a week ago but falling by 3.3% compared to the same period a year earlier. The capacity utilization rate was 81.7%, up by 0.1% week on week but down by 1.3% year on year.
As of the week ending June 11, the adjusted year-to-date production of US’ crude steel has amounted to 40.66 million short tons, a year-on-year drop of 1.7%. The capacity utilization rate was 80.7%, a year-on-year growth of 1.3%.
