The US domestic market continues to show a strong and stable outlook. Nucor spot prices rose by $5/t, marking the fifth consecutive week of increases, while HRC West Coast prices slightly declined to the 885–942$/t range. Demand remains generally weak, inventories are limited, and imports are low; this is keeping spot market activity subdued and helping maintain prices in a controlled manner. Hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) prices are steady at $940/st for HRC-based and $970/st for CRC-based, while CRC remains stable in the $1,050–1,100/st EXW range, with an average lead time of 7 weeks.
Rebar prices are steady in the $895–970/st EXW range, with buyers acting cautiously due to limited spot availability. December scrap is maintaining a strong-flat trend in the US market, and intermittent workdays along with the upcoming January stock replenishment cycle are supporting a stable and robust risk balance that leaves little room for downside. Fluctuations in the euro and pound may create uncertainty ahead of the US Federal Reserve’s December 10 meeting.
Overall, the US steel market shows a controlled, balanced, and stable outlook, with prices expected to remain generally flat next week due to the Thanksgiving holiday.
