The Netherlands' scrap prices are on a downward trend!

A downtrend was observed for HMS 1/2 80:20 scrap in the Netherlands during the week of February 19.

SteelRadar data revealed that HMS 1/2 80:20 in the Netherlands recorded its lowest price of USD 370 in the first week of January, before witnessing a steady increase in the same week to close the first week of January at USD 382.

Except for the first week of last month, it remained unchanged, reaching its highest price at the end of the month, trading at 394 USD. HMS 1/2 80:20, which started trading at 391 USD in February, decreased by 5 USD to 388 USD in the week of February 16 and continued its downward trend and traded at 385 USD on February 21, according to data.

SteelRadar sources informed SteelRadar that 80:20 is not a very standard grade in Europe, but they think that it is widely used in Türkiye. They also underlined that scrap exports from the EU are highly bureaucratic and laborious, and emphasized that the demand from EU scrap dealers is low.
