Tata Steel, sustainability champion for eight years

With 34 million tons of crude steel capacity, Tata Steel, one of the world's largest steel producing companies, reinforces its leadership in sustainability with its low-carbon production technologies, environmental management systems and inclusive social projects. In addition to its operations in India, the company also draws attention with its green transformation projects in Europe.

India-based iron and steel company Tata Steel has achieved significant success by taking part in Worldsteel's “Steel Sustainability Champions” program since 2018. The company, which has been named champion for eight consecutive years, has demonstrated a consistent stance on sustainability.

“We are committed to leading the sustainable future”

TV Narendran, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Steel, commented on his company being recognized once again as a Steel Sustainability Champion by the World Steel Association (Worldsteel):

“We are privileged to once again be recognized by the World Steel Association as a steel sustainability champion. This recognition highlights our ongoing commitment to sustainable steel production, leveraging advanced technologies and responsible practices to minimize our environmental footprint. We are committed to driving innovation, improving resource efficiency and playing an important role in building a more sustainable and resilient future for the steel industry.”
