Tata Steel has commenced production of its first galvanized coil on the newly established line in Kalinganagar

This significant development was announced at a ceremony attended by Karamveer Singh, General Manager of Tata Steel Kalinganagar Operations, Rabindra Kumar Jamuda, President of the Tata Steel Kalinganagar Workers' Union, and other senior executives.

The new CGL-1 line was designed to meet the growing demands of the automotive and white goods sectors. The line is equipped with advanced technology features such as a third-generation air knife with a magnetic stabilizer, an oxidation chamber, and high-grade secondary coatings. These features enable the production of high-quality, advanced high-strength automotive sheets (Advanced High Strength Steels - AHSS) that meet stringent quality standards. This ensures superior surface quality, formability, and corrosion resistance in the products.

Prabhat Kumar, Vice President of Flat Products Marketing and Sales at Tata Steel, stated, "The new CGL-1 line in Kalinganagar is designed to produce advanced coated products with superior surface quality and performance that meet the high quality standards of the automotive and white goods industries. This facility strengthens Tata Steel’s position as a reliable partner in the future of mobility while addressing our customers’ evolving needs.”
