Taiwan's SYSCO and CSC co-operate to develop carbon-neutral steel products

Taiwan's SYSCO and CSC are collaborating to develop carbon-neutral steel products using zero-emission raw materials.

Taiwan's SYSCO and CSC co-operate to develop carbon-neutral steel products

Sheng Yu Steel Co., Ltd (SYSCO) will develop carbon-neutral steel products using zero-emission raw materials in partnership with China Steel Corporation (CSC). The products will be publicised before the end of this year after approval by a notary unit.

In response to the EU's launch of the cross-border carbon tax mechanism in October, SYSCO started to develop products and production technologies related to clean energy and net zero carbon emissions, and first co-operated with CSC to develop carbon-neutral steel products using zero carbon emission raw materials.

CSC Chairman Chaodong Weng said that steel market demand is expected to start recovering in July, with the World Steel Association (worldsteel) forecasting that global steel consumption will increase continuously this year and next year.
