Taiwanese carbon steel wire rod manufacturer Quintain Steel has increased the price of galvanized iron wire by about US$17/ton to reflect the cost in steel scrap, although it did not change the list price of wire rod for December.
The offer to Taiwan for the scrap of HMS 80:20 (1&2) has reached about US$ 373/ton CFR, an increase of over US$20/ton compared to the end of September.
This increased the local price of galvanized iron wire to about US$765/ton. However, the market price should decrease to about US$750/ton.
Market experts also note whether the price of scrap continues to increase; they believe that the market price of galvanized iron wire will increase even higher.
