Taiwan's HRC-CRC imports increased in the first half of 2024

In the first half of 2024, Taiwan's hot rolled coil (HRC) imports increased significantly, reaching approximately 572,000 tons. This increase indicates a 116.67% increase compared to 264,000 in the first half of 2023. Approximately 374,000 tons of these imports were from China, 103,000 tons from South Korea, and 95,000 tons from Japan.

Taiwan's cold rolled coil (CRC) imports also increased by 48.57%, from 175,000 tons to approximately 260,000 tons in the first six months of 2023. The majority of cold rolled coil imports came from China, accounting for approximately 193,000 tonnes. The rest was 46,000 tons from Korea and 20,000 tons from Japan.
