Stegra signed a letter of intent with Galmed Steel for the galvanization of green steel

Operating under a subsidy-based business model, Stegra has signed a letter of intent with Spanish company Galmed Steel for the galvanization of its green steel. Positioned as a fossil fuel-free steel producer, Stegra was founded in 2020 by Harald Mix of Vargas Holding and Carl-Erik Lagercrantz.

Stegra signed a letter of intent with Galmed Steel for the galvanization of green steel

The letter of intent signed by the parties establishes a framework for cooperation under which Stegra’s fossil fuel-free steel products will be galvanized at Galmed Steel’s facilities. Through this agreement, Stegra aims to transform its green steel into higher-value galvanized products, thereby expanding its applications—particularly in the European market.

Leveraging Galmed Steel’s technical infrastructure and expertise in galvanization, the collaboration seeks to position Stegra’s low-carbon steel products for use in automotive, construction, and industrial applications. Both parties announced that following the signing of the letter of intent, negotiations will continue to finalize commercial and technical details.
