Steel consumption in Brazil fell by 12.6% in April

As the production of crude steel increased by 5.1% to 2.8 million tons; domestic sales decreased by 14.3% to 1.5 million tons, exports decreased by 29.2% to 880,000 tons, and imports increased by 21.1% to 403,000 tons.

Annually, cumulative steel production increased by 8.8% to 10.6 million tons in the first four months of the year, domestic sales fell by 4% to 6.4 million tons, exports fell by 10.5% to 4.0 million tons, imports rose by 34.4% to 1.4 million tons, and consumption fell by 0.9% to 7.7 million tons.
