According to data obtained by SteelRadar analysts from the Spanish Association of Steel Industries (UNESID), Spain's crude steel production increased by 17% y/y in March 2025, from 1 million 192 thousand tons to 1 million 19 thousand tons. This figure increased by 13.3% compared to the previous month, February. Crude steel production was 1 million 52 thousand tons in February.
During January-March period, total crude steel production increased by 11.16% from 2 million 948 thousand tons to 3 million 277 thousand tons.
In March 2025, the amount of scrap recycling increased by 16% y/y from 844 thousand tons to 977 thousand tons. This figure increased by 17.4% compared to the previous month, February. Scrap recycling amount was recorded as 832 thousand in February.
During January-March period, total scrap recycling increased by 9.45% from 2 million 380 thousand tons to 2 million 605 thousand tons.
