Sovel and Danieli install high-capacity K-Spool line at Almyros

Sovel, part of the Sidenor Group, has placed an order with Danieli for a new K-Spool line to be installed at its Almyros micromill in Greece. This marks Danieli’s third 8-ton K-Spool® installation and is the first and only line of its kind in Greece and the Balkan region.

The new line will replace the existing 3.5-ton spooler and enable the production of compact, twist-free rebars in coil weighing up to 8 tons, with diameters ranging from 8 to 25 mm.

The K-Spool line will be integrated into the MIDA continuous casting and rolling mill, recently upgraded with a high-speed Danieli Octocaster. The investment is expected to increase coil weight capacity, improve production efficiency, and reduce handling and processing costs for Sovel’s rebar products.
