SMS group receives order for bar heating machine from Huzhou Hatebur in China

Huzhou Hatebur reportedly selected SMS due to its technical expertise as part of its modernization efforts aimed at making its precision forging operations more efficient, durable, and sustainable. The scope of supply includes not only the core components of the ELO-BAR solution, but also drives, critical control systems, and auxiliary equipment. The system is scheduled to be commissioned toward the end of 2026.

SMS group’s activities in China stand out through its experience in delivering induction heating systems tailored to local conditions, advanced project management, and the development of a strong supplier network. With this project, the company aims to further strengthen its presence in the Chinese market.

Henk de Lange, CEO of SMS Elotherm, emphasized the strategic importance of China for the company, stating that investments in local engineering resources, training programs, spare parts inventory, and joint R&D activities will be increased. He also noted that despite localization efforts, German engineering standards and quality controls will continue to be maintained.

Tobias Leiting, Vice President of SMS group China CNX, stated that the project combines German equipment quality with China’s cost efficiency and fast delivery advantages, expressing the company’s aim to establish a long-term strategic partnership.

Chen Huiyan, General Manager of Huzhou Hatebur, noted that existing SMS Elotherm heating systems have demonstrated high stability and energy efficiency in the field, and that the new equipment is expected to significantly improve bar heating uniformity, forming consistency, and overall production efficiency.

C&U Group, one of the leading players in China’s bearing industry, has been operating for more than 30 years and has long maintained a leading position in domestic production and sales. Huzhou Hatebur, as the group’s main forging unit, specializes in the production of precision bearing components, automotive parts, and wheel hub flanges.
