According to data obtained by SteelRadar from the European Commission, quota utilization rates in different sheet metal product categories fluctuated significantly. While 3A electrical sheets quotas were not used at all, high quota utilization rates were observed in the organic coated sheet category.
Organic Coated Sheets Almost Completely Sold Out
The United Kingdom used the least amount of quota in the organic coated sheets category, using only 10.44% of its quota of 86,907 tons, leaving 77,830 tons remaining. Taiwan used 99.79% of its quota of 22,904 tons, India used 99.93% of its 78,591 tons of organic coated steel, and Türkiye and South Korea used 99.99% of their capacities of 15,716 and 71,048 tons, respectively.
The Product with the Highest Variation in Utilization Rate: Stainless HR Quarto Plates
Stainless HR quarto plates showed the most variation in terms of quota utilization rates. The United Kingdom did not use any of its quota of 3,443 tons, while China used all of its quota of 4,915 tons.
South Korea Ranked First in HRC and CRC Quota Utilization
South Korea used 93.89% of its entire HRC quota of 161,143 tons and 94,591 tons of CRC quota, making it the country with the highest quota utilization in both product categories.
When we look at the HRC and CRC quota utilization of other countries;
Türkiye used 81.49% of its HRC quota of 627,026 tons, Serbia used 36.13% of its capacity of 279,426 tons, India used 5.16% of its quota of 773,831 tons and the United Kingdom used 3.20% of its quota of 548,926 tons.
India used 25.35% of its CRC quota of 349,207 tons, Serbia used 9.88% of its quota of 117,493 tons and the United Kingdom used 3.30% of its capacity of 22,494 tons.
