Tommaso Sandrini, Chief Executive of San Polo Lamiere, emphasized that while steel is one of the Group's pillars, diversification in sub-sectors is still a priority.
Italpak recorded remarkable growth in recent years thanks to its cooperation with Thyssenkrupp-Rasselstein. Italpak processed around 50,000 tons of tinplate last year and reported that the target for next year is to increase its production to the range of 60,000-70,000 tons/year. The Italpack company is regarded as an opportunity to enter a new market segment with significant growth potential in terms of service.
Italpak continues to operate as an independent entity, under the direction of newly appointed CEO Stefano Morelli, and the organization is said to process coils through two cutting lines at the plant in Montechiarugolo.
