Salzgitter AG invests heavily to increase sheet processing capacity

According to a statement from the company, approval has been granted for the installation of a new straightening machine at the plant in Mülheim an der Ruhr.

The investment is said to cost in the double-digit million EUR range, making it one of the largest single investments in the history of the plant. The project is expected to significantly increase the sheet processing capacity of Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech upon completion.

An agreement has been reached with Austrian company Buma Engineering & Anlagenbau GmbH for the supply of the new equipment. The straightening machine is scheduled to be commissioned in the summer of 2026.

This strategic move is seen as a significant step towards Salzgitter AG's goals of increasing its competitiveness in the European steel market and improving production efficiency. The investment is expected to contribute to the company's future growth plans.
