Russian pig iron exports under pressure
The global pig iron market remained under downward pressure throughout July, although conditions improved toward the end of the month as higher freight rates and stronger Asian demand provided support. Russian export prices declined for a second consecutive month, while Türkiye maintained its position as the largest destination for Russian pig iron. At the same time, increased competition from Indian suppliers weighed on prices in the US market and raised concerns about potential oversupply in other import markets.
