In an official statement on its website, the General Directorate of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permitting and Inspection announced that the project has officially started the EIA process.
It was also reported that the Review and Evaluation Commission (REC) meeting will be held on April 11, 2025.
The İsdemir Port Capacity Increase project has entered the first phase of the EIA process. The works to be carried out by Iskenderun Demir ve Çelik A.Ş. within the scope of the project aim to expand commercial activities in the region and increase logistics capacity, while undergoing a detailed evaluation process in terms of its environmental impacts.
With the completion of the EIA process, it will become clear whether the project will receive final approval. The decision to be taken following the REC meeting is of great importance both in terms of İsdemir's investment plans and the economic and environmental dynamics in the region.
Depending on the progress of the process, whether the project will be realized or not will become clear in the coming period and will be shared with the public.
