Polish steel producers are under price pressure!

Poland's rebar prices are experiencing high production costs amid rising raw material costs and steady demand. While offers were heard in the range of PLN 2,820-2,840 per tonne for rebar ahead of the Christmas holidays, Polish producers were reported to have offered in the range of PLN 2,850-2,900 per tonne CPT ($719-732), corresponding to around PLN 2,830-2,870 per tonne ex-works.

Italian import offers were reported at €656-667 ($720-732) per tonne CPT. For wire rod, the CPT range of 3,100-3,300 zloty per tonne was largely unchanged this week, with no significant impact on the market due to low demand.

Drawn quality wire rod prices of €665-675 per tonne CPT and web quality wire rod prices of €655 per tonne CPT were reported from Italy. Ukrainian offers were reported at €640 per tonne FCA for wire rod from Ukraine, sources informed.
