The potential buyer will now conduct comprehensive due diligence, and according to Boryszew, the final sale agreement is expected to be signed by October 15. Rurexpol has decided to shut down its annual production capacity of 70,000 tons. The decision was influenced by outdated plant technologies and the company’s inability to compete amid deteriorating market conditions in the European steel sector. This situation is reminiscent of Walcownia Rur Andrzej (WRA), which was liquidated earlier this year for similar reasons.
Dutch consulting firm KRUDO Industrial B.V. has been authorized to manage the sale of both divisions.
In March, Huta Czestochowa signed a letter of intent with Rurexpol outlining a cooperation framework, following the Polish Ministry of Defence’s decision to exercise its right to acquire Huta Czestochowa.
