According to official data, the attack on Ukraine by the Russian Federation led to a decrease in the pipe market. In 2022, Ukraine's pipe production amounted to 608 thousand tons, a decrease of 38% compared to 2021. The cost of pipe products was adversely affected.
Pipe exports from Ukraine decreased by 33.6% y-o-y to 400.44 thousand tons in 2022, while pipe imports decreased by 59.4% y-o-y to 38.1 thousand tons. In this period, export value decreased by 10.1% compared to the previous year to $688.5 million, while the value of imports decreased by 53.4% y-o-y to $77.9 million.
The decrease in pipe production has also affected some plants. Pipe production of Interpipe Niko Tube decreased by 531.1%, pipe production of Interpipe NMTZ decreased by 67.1% and pipe production of Centravis decreased by 38.3%.
