Pig iron production increased in Ukraine

In March of this year, pig iron production in Ukraine amounted to 538,200 tons, an increase of 8.6% compared to the previous month and 15.7% compared to the previous year, according to data from the Ukrainian metallurgical association Ukrmetallurgprom.

In the month, the country's crude steel production rose 14.9% month-on-month and 15.8% year-on-year to 610,900 tonnes, while rolled steel production stood at 488,700 tonnes, up 9.3% month-on-month. and by 12.1% compared to the same month last year.

Meanwhile, in the first three months of this year, Ukraine produced 1.59 million tons of pig iron, which is 32.1% more than last year, while crude steel production during the specified period amounted to 1.69 million tons, an increase of 36.6%, and rolled steel production - 1.39 million tons, an increase of 35.5%, both figures year-on-year.
