PCS Holding is an investment holding company in which Stadler Rail, a manufacturer of railway vehicles and systems, is the parent company. A few years ago it acquired about 10% of Swiss Steel from BigPoint.
Big Point is an investment holding company that also includes aluminium producer Amag. Some time ago, the Swiss financial authority Finma obliged owner Martin Haefner to reduce his voting rights to less than one third as a precondition for a capital increase at Swiss Steel.
Big Point currently owns less than 33% of the producer of speciality bar grades and just over 20% of Spuhler's PCS. The third major player in the steel group is Russian billionaire Viktor Veskelberg and his Liwet Holding, with a stake of around 25 per cent.
