Nucor, the largest steel producer in the USA, announced that its electric arc furnace and plant in Kentucky have started operation. The plant is expected to produce the first plate by the end of the year.
The company said the facility is also well positioned for offshore wind projects.
Nucor expects its plate plant in Kentucky to reach full production in the first quarter of 2023.
