Non stop transportation between Türkiye and Syria begins

With the income and corporate tax exemption introduced for the earnings from the sale of products manufactured in the free zone to the zone and other regions, it is aimed to support SMEs in free zones and pave the way for clustering.

Non stop transportation between Türkiye and Syria begins

Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, made statements within the scope of the "Global Transport Corridors Forum" held at the Istanbul Congress Center.

Stating that the Turkish and Syrian delegations came together and reached an agreement on the resumption of road transportation, Uraloğlu said that within this framework, they signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in the Field of International Road Transportation".

Emphasizing that an agreement was reached on the resumption of international road transport between Türkiye and Syria, Uraloğlu stated: "Within the scope of the International Road Transport Agreement signed between the two countries in 2004, commercial transports will resume. By ending the transshipment of cargo at border gates, cargo will be able to be transported directly from Türkiye to Syria and from Syria to Türkiye without transshipment."

Mutual training program will be organized

Stating that the delegations also agreed on the start of transit transportation, Uraloğlu stated that direct access by land from Türkiye to Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and the Gulf countries will be provided.

Pointing out that the cargoes will be able to reach the Gulf countries faster on a shorter route through Syria, Uraloğlu used the following expressions:

"The resumption of transportation between Türkiye and Syria will strengthen the position of Türkiye and Syria in regional trade not only between the two countries, but also between Europe and Asia, while integrating the Middle Corridor with the Gulf countries. The Turkish and Syrian authorities also agreed to cooperate in different areas of passenger and goods transportation and to organize mutual training programs."
